ToesUp, do you now belong to another religion? Do you still believe in God? What do you do when you need spiritual food? Where do you turn? -

Disfellowshipping - abusing our evolutionary development
by Anony Mous ini just saw the video from kursgezagt on loneliness and it points out the biological reasons for social interaction, it also points out the reason we experience social pain in loneliness, basically, because in the recent past (a few hundred years ago) isolation meant you were very likely to die so our bodies and brains adapted to know when the circumstances of this dangerous situation emerged.. this immediately made me think about the disfellowshipping and social isolation that jw’s practice - it’s basically abusing our own evolutionary biology against ourselves and puts you in a cycle of loneliness, depression with the only ‘cure’ going back to the acceptance of the social group and accepting their ‘quirks’..

You have brought up a very good point. It is well known that many who are disfellowshipped attempt suicide. Unfortunately, some who attempt suicide actually succeed.
I do believe that being disfellowshipped can put a person at risk of death. Even if that person does not attempt to take his or her own life, being disfellowshipped can result in depression. And depression can shorten a person’s life.

Is JW.Org the true religion?
by Maria Nieves injw.org states that they are the true religion.
i was told that it is written in the bible that jw.org is the true religion.
the following is the "alleged" evidence that was presented to me:.

Days of future passed, that is what I was wondering, whether Jehovah Witness were taking a scripture and interpreting it in their own way. A way that is to their benefit.
I have seen people be disfellowshipped within the congregation. I have also seen disfellowshipped ones be shunned. Watching how a disfellowshipped person gets treated does not seem like brotherly love to me.

JW.Org states that they are the true religion. I was told that it is written in the bible that JW.Org is the true religion. The following is the "alleged" evidence that was presented to me:
Isaiah 43:10 "You are my witnesses," declares Jehovah, "Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none.
What do you think of the above scripture? Is it evidence that Jehovah Witness are the one true religion? Or can it be that JW.Org obtained its name from the above scripture?

My Study Conductor taught me not to say, "Bless you." I learned not to say it to Jehovah Witnesses but in the world, I did say it to others. To me, its just courtesy, showing politeness or showing that you care.
One time I observed a child say, "Bless you" to a person sitting next to her at a Kingdom Hall. Her grandmother quickly corrected her. It was sad to see the child showing courtesy and then being corrected. I am sure that the child did not think that she was doing anything wrong when she decided to say, "Bless you."

Ending Bible Study
by Maria Nieves ini have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.
initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.
however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

DesirousOfChange, Thank-you for the concern. No. My Study Conductor did not get to me. There was a time that I was not aware that the only site that I could visit was JW.Org. I was going through a difficult time and was seeking answers. Therefore, I looked on-line. Being naive, I told my Study Conductor that I was reading biblical things on-line. My Study Conductor became very upset. She made it clear that I was only to look at materials from JW.Org and stated that material from elsewhere was of Satan. If she knew that I was on this site, she would label me an Apostate.
When I first began to have doubts about the truth, I thought that the problem was me and I believed that Satan was influencing me. These are things that I did not tell my Study Conductor because I began to lose trust in her after she became upset.
I now find myself in a situation where my doubts towards the Jehovah Witness religion continue to grow. At this point, there is nothing that my Study Conductor can say that will result in me thinking otherwise.
Vanderhoven7, thank-you for the advise. I have learned that Jehovah Witness immediately put an end to being challenged. As soon as a challenging question is asked, they will quickly end the conversation. If the challenge continues, they label the person who is doing the challenge as an apostate. However, the information that you provided was helpful for me. I was not aware that white blood cells are passed from the mother's milk to the child when feeding.
Finkelstein, It was because of my insecurities and ignorance that I began to study with Jehovah Witness. I began to study during a time in my life where I was going through many hardships and emotional problems. I felt lost and was lost. A study was offered to me and I quickly accepted without hesitation because I was searching for healing. As I progressed in my studies, being at The Kingdom Hall and being around other Jehovah Witness, it was then that I began to have questions.
